West Runton Beach

When you walk down the slope to the beach, you will notice it is very diverse.

On the left hand side there is Europe’s largest chalk reef, which is exposed at low water to reveal hundreds of rock pools teeming with wildlife. To the right you will see the vast expanse of sand, this area is now one of North Norfolk's accredited Blue Flag Beaches.

During the bathing season the water quality is tested by the Environment Agency on a weekly basis, that's more than any other Beach in the area!, to make sure the quality is excellent, gaining us a top Three Star rating, and that no litter is present on the foreshore.

RNLI Lifeguards on duty

Keeping the beach safe and clean

In 2016 RNLI lifeguards started to man the beach during the busy summer season. Their hut is located on the right hand side at the bottom of the slope to the beach. The hut is manned daily from around mid June by two lifeguards from 10am until 6pm.

Any issues, they are there to help!
